ARUP Civil Engineer – Docklands – Full time

ABOUT:
Civil Engineer - Drainage, roads, utilities, earthworks, pavements, transport infrastructure, building projects
Supporting the development of one or more concept and detailed design packages under the supervision of a senior engineer/package lead, as part of a major transport infrastructure project. This may include using engineering analysis software, design coordination with a multidisciplinary team, attending meetings, stakeholder engagement and report writing. Approximately 3-8 years’ experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
You will work on defined tasks relating to projects being undertaken within your appointed team.
You will assist more senior members of staff with the analysis of information, production of designs and computations.
You will assist in the preparation of designs, drawings, specifications, proposals and other documentation under supervision. In achieving this you will apply a variety of standard methods and techniques in solving problems as well as more innovate ways of working.
You will be accountable for submitting a high quality of work that is accurate.
You will be accountable for providing all information in an articulate and organised manner within agreed timeframes.

REQUIREMENTS:
Problem solving/analytical skills.
Good communication skills.
Ability to interpret and carry out instructions.
Ability to use basic theoretical knowledge of core principles relating to your discipline to analyse and interpret information.
Previous experience as an engineer/project support or similar role
Interest in others and the ability to adapt style to the customer to actively build rapport and relationships with a variety of people at different levels.

HOURS:
Fixed term 6-month full time 37.5 hrs per week Monday to Friday
Possible extension dependant on available work on the completion of the fixed term
Start times 8.30am – 5pm (flexibility with start and finish times)

LOCATION:
Working from 699 Collins Street, Docklands, Melbourne, combination of office and work from home
