|Bushland Crew Member|
Undertake bush regeneration and weed control using various methods including the use of Herbicides, litter removal and planting in a range of different environments, the use chainsaws(if qualified), mowers, brushcutters and other hand tools, cleaning and maintaining equipment, General laboring duties, operate light earthmoving equipment(if qualified), use recycled water ,and other duties as required by Western Land Services.

Actively participate as part of a Bushland team under direct supervision of a Crew Supervisor and/or Manager.
Ensure your own safety and the safety and security of fellow team members, and also of
plant and equipment.
KEY PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Adherence to site work programs and Supervisors’ directions.
Ability to interact with fellow Workers, Crew Supervisors, Managers, Customers and members of the community in an open and warm manner.
Assist in environmental activities as directed by Crew supervisors, Managers and Site Work Plans and assessments.
Ensure plant and equipment is correctly used and maintained.
Ensure a harassment-free and racism-free workplace.
Promote environmental rehabilitation as a valuable community asset and one worth participating in.
Participate in Company training programs.
Participate in ongoing training and development of self and team.
Provide input into work practices and communicate issues.
Participate in trials of new techniques and systems of work to improve work practices and productivity and ensure WLS team members develop new skills.
Undertake other duties as required by Western Land Services.
Work within a team environment to achieve goals and targets in line with WLS Management plans
Assist the Crew Supervisor to plan team and individual goals to accomplish this.
While for the most part of your employment with Western Land Services you will start and finish at our depot (20 Collins Rd, Melton), at times you will be required to start and finish work on the actual worksite and as such you will need to arrange transport.
Ensure that appropriate work standards are achieved according to WLS Policies & Procedures
Adhere to and adopt required safety procedures and systems in accordance with Western Lands Services Occupational Health &Safety policy and procedures and WLS Site Risk Assessment.
Be responsible for the safety and security of all plant, equipment and tools allocated.
Ensure all potential or actual areas of danger within the areas worked are immediately made
safe and repaired or reported to Crew supervisor and OHS representative as soon as possible after discovery.
Wear uniform / protective clothing required for safety.
Use equipment appropriate to the task being undertaken and as required by Western Land Services and their Supervisors.
Only undertake tasks when authorized and adequately trained.
Functions for this position may include (but are not limited to):
Carrying out revegetation and restoration works, planting and watering.
Constructing and maintaining garden beds.
Fire management (carried out under authorized supervision).
Identifying and managing weed infestation sources.
Weed control implementation as per industry standards.
Experimental work as instructed.
Removal of rubbish, debris and / or other extraneous material found within bushland areas.
Attendance at monthly toolbox meetings.
Assist crew supervisor to complete competencies and audits when required.
Regular and Punctual attendance.
